Maybe a items translation list...) =================== 2. MENU TRANSLATION =================== ---------------------------- TITLE SCREEN (TOP TO BOTTOM) ---------------------------- -------- New game -------- --------- Load game --------- ----------- Change Name ----------- ---------- Music Test ---------- ------------------------- GAME MENU (TOP TO BOTTOM) ------------------------- This is what you get when you right-click during the game itself. ------ Status ------ With this you can... 1)click on the numbers on the left, allowing you to take out or put in members into your party and 2)click on the character's name to get a series of choices. See below. ------- Healing ------- If you have any character that knows priest magic, you can use them to cast the healing spell with this command. It costs 5mp per heal, effectiveness based on your intelligence. ------------------ Change Party Order ------------------ Changes your party order, so you can put your fighters in front and mages behind. ----------- Use an Item ----------- Self-explanatory. --------- Save Game --------- Ditto. ----------- Resume Game ----------- Self-explantory once again. --------------------- CHARACTER STATUS MENU --------------------- ------------------------------- Spend EXP to improve your stats ------------------------------- Unlike other RPGs, where you get exp and automatically level up and have a set stat gain, all exp earned goes to a pool where you can redistribute them to your liking. When you give a person enough exp, he will level up, which is how magic-users learn new spells in this game. Of course, different classes have different values needed to raise a particular stat, for example, fighters use about 20 exp to raise 1 point of hp while a mage will use 50 exp. The stats are as follows (from top to bottom) HP MP Strength - Affects physical damage. Intelligence - Affects spell power, such as damage or healing. Dexterity - Increases chance of Critical Hit (Ver 1.2 Update) UPDATE: Might affect hit rate and dodge rate. Defense - Reduces damage taken from physical attacks. Magic Resistance - I believe it reduces damage taken from spell damage. ----------- Use an Item ----------- Make a guess. -------------------- Look at Priest Magic Look at Mage Magic ------------------- Both of these allow you to see what level you have to be before you gain a spells. ------- Go back ------- ------------ BATTLE MENUS ------------ Most of these are icons, so they should be easy to figure out. -------------------------------- Character Orders (Left to Right) -------------------------------- You get this menu when you left-click on a character. ------- Move ------- --------- Physical Attack --------- -------------- I have no idea -------------- ------------ Cast a Spell ------------ -------- Use Item -------- ------ Defend ------ --------- Skip Turn --------- -------------------------------- Right click menu (Left to Right) -------------------------------- You get this when you right click -------- End Turn -------- ---------------- Flee from battle ---------------- Runs away from battle, but you're sent back to the start of the area. Doesn't work on bosses, duh. -------------- Movement Speed -------------- Determines how fast characters get to their destination ----------------------------- Turn On/Off Spell Explanation ----------------------------- Decides whether you get a spell explanation when you use a spell. -------------------------- Mage Magic (Left to Right) -------------------------- ------------------- Single-target spell ------------------- ------------ Linear spell ------------ Attacks in a straight line, hitting both allies and enemies in it's path, VERY hard to use effectively. --------------- Explosion spell --------------- Hits a diamond shape area, vast improvement over the previous spell. --------------- Lightning spell --------------- Hits EVERY enemy on the screen. You can make battles ridiculously easy by killing entire groups by boosting your mages intelligence and mp. ---------------------------- Priest Magic (Left to Right) ---------------------------- ---- Heal ---- --------------- Improve Defense --------------- ------------------------ Improve Magic Resistance ------------------------ -------- Heal all -------- - ? _ ------------------ Improves strength? ------------------ --------- Holy Bolt --------- Damages undead only, crappy spell. ------------ Resurrection ------------ ============= 3. CHARACTERS ============= Since I have no knowledge of Japanese whatsoever I'll use generic names to describe them, I think it should be pretty obvious who is who. --------------------- Rune (Main Character) --------------------- He's a fighter, meaning he gains hp and strength/defense relatively fast, average accuracy and the rest are depressing Like most fighters, he has absolutely no use for intelligence and mp, please don't boost those stats unless you really have exp to burn. Raises magic resistance pretty poorly. Use the stat-boosting items. ---------------------------- Milfeulle (Childhood friend) ---------------------------- She's the red-head mage girl that you start off with. As a general rule, mages tend to suck until you get level 10 so try to head for that ASAP. Unlike fighters, while hp and defense takes a lot of exp, you'll can't ignore them like fighters can ignore intelligence unless you want them to die in five seconds. Once again, I suggest using the stat-boosting items instead. -------------------- Mineru (Priest girl) -------------------- This one's the green-hair girl you start with. The stat growth isn't that one-sided, leaning more to the magic side but still not unreasonable to boost the rest. Unfortunately, she leaves your party RIGHT at the end, so I wouldn't recommend pumping too much exp into her. ---------------- Rina (Wolf Girl) ---------------- By "Wolf Girl", I mean the girl with the wolf, not that she's half-wolf. My favourite character design in the game, in case anyone cared. I believe she's the MOST well rounded character in the game, everything takes about 20-30 xp with her. While that means it's hard to abuse stat-boosting items, it also means you don't slaughter exp reserves if you're doing something like boosting hp for a mage. She can both use priest magic AND fight well, I highly recommend using her in your party. ------------- Albion (Wolf) ------------- The um, Wolf... thing. This guy is A BEAST (both literally and figuratively), he gains hp for 15 xps, the lowest cost of all characters and he gains strength for 10 xp each (!), which is ridiculous. I suppose it's to compenstate for the fact that he can't buy weapon upgrades... since he has no weapon, being a feral beast. He's still overpowered as far as fighters go though. Only weakness is that he can't hurt some enemies later in the game. He's actually the son of some kind of Dragon or something and not a wolf but not like it matters. -------------- A.Scholar Girl -------------- If you choose to go to the upper road in Chapter 2, you'll get her. For the life of me, I can't figure out what the frag this character is supposed to be for. She can't use magic or even attack. And she doesn't have any h-scenes as far as I know. Drop me an e-mail if anyone does. Updated: She's needed for the forest path in chapter 4. ---------------------- B. Misty (Bandit Girl) ---------------------- If you choose to take the lower road instead, you'll get this one. I believe she's the only character in the game with a ranged physical attack, so you might want to get her for that novelty value. And she has a h-scene, unlike the above character. ------- Kitsune ------- The 2nd mage character you get. Named because her battle sprite looks sort of similar to Kitsune of Love Hina fame (and nothing like her CG art at all), Kitsune isn't her real name. She can't upgrade weapons like your childhood friend, but being a mage still makes her a cheesy character once you get lvl 10 and above. --- Elf --- Going to the elf village in chapter 4 will allow you to recruit her, um, I can't find any good use for her combat-wise. I thought she was an archer or something but apparently not. Nice h-scene though. She has high magic defense, but magic using enemies are far and few. Plus you need a well-balanced defense since most of them can use melee attacks too. You will need Scholar Girl to recruit her. ---------------- Cecil (Princess) ---------------- Take the priest, minus the physical stats growth and boost the magical stat growth to the level of the mage and you have the princess. --------------- Franks (Knight) --------------- He's a fighter like Rune, I never really like him, magic-users are way better and he joins too late in the game to be of any use. ----------------- Magic-Immune Girl ----------------- Named because if anyone tries to cast a spell on her, a barrier will protect her from it. This is more annoying when you're fighting her than when she's in your party. Don't pump any stats into her, she joins you late and leaves EXACTLY at the end. ============== 4. WALKTHROUGH ============== ---------- Chapter 1 ---------- Go north and watch a cutscene where you save Cecil from a wolf. Then I assume some time has passed between then and your childhood friend wakes you up (generic RPG scene #1) and I dunno, the king is looking for knights or lackeys or something. Once you can control your character, talk to everyone and head to the item shop (it's the one with the bag on it) to stock up on some healing items. The OTHER shop, the one with a sword on it, is to upgrade your weapons. Once you have chosen the character you want to upgrade, the top selection upgrades physical attacks while the bottom upgrades magic. Some characters don't have equipment and so they can't upgrade them. The japanese characters thingy for no equipment is easy to recognize, just look at the Albion. Head west out of town and enter the church. Talk to another priest, head out, VER 1.2 UPDATE: Don't leave the area! Instead head around to the back of the church to get 2 CGs of Rina taking a bath Now talk to the priest to recruit Rina and Albion. Oddly enough they start with level 5 while everyone is still level 0 or 3. Head north and talk to the guards and they won't let you in for some reason or another. Now head back south and when you see a fork in the path, take the one leading to the western exit. (Oddly enough, it won't appear if you didn't go to the castle). You'll be in a field with a bunch of rats running around. I suggest getting used to the combat system. Use your items if you need healing, you can always buy more. After your first combat, open up your status menu and distribute exp to improve your stats, you don't automatically level up in this RPG. Then, when you think you're tough enough , head to the flower field in the lower right. You'll fight a pathetically easy battle with a whole bunch of slime. After, you'll get your reward, some kind of flower or weed or something. Head back north to the church and talk to the priest. Chapter complete! --------- Chapter 2 --------- Head north to the castle and the guards will now let you in. There's an inn on the left, which will restore your hp/mp more effectively than using items. You can head back to the field to the south if you need more exp/gold. Otherwise head out of the east entrance of town to enter a field. Which path you take determines what storyline branch you get next. If you headed north, read the volcano section. Otherwise read the Misty section. ------- Desert ------- It should be night when you enter, first find the scholar girl in the bar (it doesn't have any particular signs to indicate it's a bar). She has green hair and a unique sprite so it shouldn't take too long. Then go to the inn and sleep the night. For future reference, if it's night, you should usually sleep at the inn to continue the story. Head out east into the desert. After walking for a few screens (just randomly pick directions, it doesn't matter), you'll eventually reach the shrine. Head to the shrine building to fight a succubus monster. The succubus herself is a spellcaster so try not to bunch up your characters unless you want to feel major hurting. Once you kill her, head back down and return all the way back to the castle and talk to the king (he's in the building with two guards at the entrance). You'll get a reward, chapter done! ----- Misty ----- You'll see a cutscene (I have no idea what it's about) when you enter. Save in another slot before you enter the inn because it's your first h-scene! You now have a new member in your party (look at your other party member's look of disbelief in the CG, they crack me up). Head east out of town. Head north immediately to get a chest containing 1000 gp! Now head up the mountain, save the girl you saw in that cutscene and continue on. At the top, you'll fight some kind of succubus with her bat companions. If your mage is level 10, one fireball should wipe out most of the bats. The succubus herself is a spellcaster so try not to bunch up your characters unless you want to feel major hurting. Once you kill her, head back down and return all the way back to the castle and talk to the king (he's in the building with two guards at the entrance). You'll get a reward, chapter done! Yes, I just copied and pasted that. --------- Chapter 3 --------- Head out the south exit of town and instead of going back to that old church area, you'll take a different path and end up in the middle of a big patch of empty land except for a town in the center. Before you enter, make sure you have a cash on hand... 5000 would be good. Head west to the fields if you don't, but DO NOT cross the bridges to the next areas. First, head to the closest inn and pay the 2000g and you'll get Kitsune on your team! Save before you head to the inn in the top-left and you'll have your first or second h-scene depending on what path you chose earlier. Now, this town is filled with... um... "night workers". The sign should be pretty obvious, they charge 500g each. If you're cheap, save before you pay and then reload after you seen the h-scenes. Note that the priestess in the church and the shopkeeper (buy some items) are "night workers" too. Once you're done, leave the town and head west to the fields. Top path leads to volcano, bottom leads to island thing. If you go the island, I believe you can get a h-scene later in the game. Choose your destiny! ------- Volcano ------- In the town, you should see a cutscene of the volcano erupting, head north once you're prepared. Go to the shrine for a cutscene, then keep heading north until you reach the volcano top. After a cutscene, you'll have a boss fight. The magma creatures hurl spells which could hurt if you haven't boosted your magic resistance but once you get close to them they usually just start running around. Attempt to head back to the castle. Go to Cht 3 continued. ------ Island ------ NOTE: Be sure you have trained up at least one good fighter if you chose this path. You'll see why later. You're in a port, go talk to one of the ship captains on the top, then save and talk to the girl sitting on a bunch of barrels. H-scene! After that you'll sail to an island and have a boss fight with a bunch of ogres. When you've finished killing them, head to the shrine for ANOTHER boss fight with magic-immune girl. Anytime you attempt to cast magic on her, a shield will appear and she'll take 0 damage. So if you don't have a good fighter here you're screwed. Attempt to head back to the castle after defeating her. Go to Chp 3 continued. --------------------- Chapter 3 (Continued) --------------------- As you enter the big plains area with the city of "night workers", suddenly a bunch of evil villians appear and blow it up for absolutely no good reason. Maybe they racked up a huge bill and didn't want to pay up. Nothing you can do about it, if you ignored my advice and didn't finish all you had to do in that town before continuing the story, HAHA! Head back to the castle for your reward. Chapter Complete! --------- Chapter 4 --------- If you ever tried to go to the northern section of this town before, you'll find out that a guard will block your way. Well, he isn't there now, so head to the inn there. After talking to the innkeeper and all your party members in the back, exit the inn and head east, save your game and talk to the princess. NOT h-scene but it's a CG worth saving for anyway. Go back to your inn and talk to Milfeulle who's sleeping, semi-h-scene, except that she wakes up and pummels you in the style of Akane or Narusegawa. Exit the inn, and exit the town from the west. The path splits into two once again, head south to the elf village (if you have scholar girl) or north to the mountain town (if you have Misty). ----------- Elf Village ----------- Save before you head west into a patch of grass for some CG. You'll fall into pit traps and be captured into the elf village. Then one of them gets carried away by an ogre so go save her. Save before you sleep because it's h-scene! Whee! Head back to castle once you're done blah blah. On the way back you'll be ambushed by a bunch of bandits, but will be helped by magic-immune girl. You still have to kill the bandits though. ------------- Mountain town ------------- Head to the church and talk to the priest in the back a few times until one of the listeners leaves. He's the innkeeper, now you can rest. Suddenly Mr.Vampire person kidnaps a lady! Oh no! After defeating the skeletons, head east out of town and keep going until you reach some sort of building. Enter and save game in another slot and rescue the bunch of women being defiled. They're behind the doors that the skeleton are guarding. After that, head east and teach him a lesson. Head back to castle once you're done blah blah. On the way back you'll be ambushed by a bunch of bandits, but will be helped by magic-immune girl. You still have to kill the bandits though. I just copied and pasted again! --------- Chapter 5 --------- Head out the north exit of town to a new area, pick up the chest near the entrance and then keep going. Head to the cave, which is pretty straightforward. On your way back, vampire guy kidnaps Princess! Go to the castle for a talk with the king. Franks joins you and you're off to save Cecil. Chapter Complete! This is pretty short isn't it? --------- Chapter 6 --------- Head out into the north exit. You might want to train yourself before proceeding further. Save the shopkeeper from being attacked and he'll give you 1 of every stat-boosting item, yay! Then stock up on items. There's two ways to complete this, you can take the non-trapped northwest way or you can take the trapped northeast way. This determines what h-scene and ending you'll get. Milfeulle or Cecil, you choice. ----------------------------- Bridge (NE) way (Cecil route) ----------------------------- Don't cross the bridge until you're fully healed because it's a long series of battles and you don't want to run out of mana halfway or something. ------------------------ NW Way (Milfeulle route) ------------------------ Stop off the shrine for a pretty simple dungeon, head northwest for boss fight, but save first... not only because you may die but because it's a h-scene! After you're done head north to continue on your quest to rescue the princess. --------------------- Chapter 6 (Continued) --------------------- Before you head into the shrine, be sure to pump up your main character as you'll be fighting a solo battle with only him. Oddly enough, the succubus enemy color scheme seems a bit too similar to Morrigan of Darkstalkers/Vampire. Other than that this is straightforward, just get to the altar where the princess in on (save first) for semi-h-scene. Cecil and Magic-Immune girl joins you. Chapter Complete! --------- Chapter 7 --------- Head out of the north exit of town again. You can't even use the northwest path now, so just take the north-east one. Cecil falls off bridge, blah blah, save before entering shed thing if you did the trapped bridge route, finish simple area. Once you reach the town, rest in INN for h-scene if you did the island route back in chapter 2. (I think) Head west into the bridge thing to enter some kind of high-tech place. This is a bit confusing, but you'll have to walk back and forth a few times. Read the piece of paper on the table, examine the door in the northwest and look at the odd device thing somewhere near the door. Do this a few times until nothing else is happening then head back to the inn to sleep. Save first. If you did it right, h-scene with the priestess girl, hurray. Unfortunately she'll leave your party after. Train yourself up and then head back to the bridge. Examine the odd device and now you can cross the bridge. Chapter complete. ------------- Final Chapter ------------- It's the final chapter! Once you're here at the tower, you can't ever leave back to town. The shopkeeper will sell you items so it's your last chance to stock up. The tower is straightforward, just keep going up. At the top, there's a plot twist or something. I won't spoil who the final boss is, but let's just say I hope you have a good party trained up. Other than the fact that there's enough mages to wipe out your whole party with the lightning spell if you haven't boosted your magic resistance, this isn't really that hard at all. You won't be able to use the character which you're on the route of. E.g you won't get Cecil on her route. In fact, you'll lose a whole bunch of characters anyway, so be sure to double-check your party before fighting the boss. Cecil's route will increase the magic power of Milfeulle to a ridiculous level for some reason. Congratulations, you've beaten the game! Enjoy the ending you chose! Now replay it to get the stuff you missed. ---------------------- Milfeulle End Sequence ---------------------- Speak to the big guy at the top... I'm guessing he's some kind of god or something. Now go back and speak to the girl sweeping the floor and the spirit. Go back to the big guy now. Hurray done! ------ 5.Misc ------ There are 2 characters which I can't find any h-scenes for, Rina and the scholar, if anyone knows how to unlock these, drop me an e-mail. VER 1.2 Update: Those characters have no H-scenes, however Rina does have 2 bath CGs, and she still manages to be the most popular character in the series it seems. ------------ Contact info ------------ You can e-mail me at Davzz@magix.com.sg if you have anything to add to the faq. Not like I think you would have any... ------ Thanks ------ Gdog66 for several name translations. ------- FAQ END ------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Faq copyright (c) Davzz 2004.
